Cats Sign Punter

It looks like Justin Palardy will have some competition, as the Tiger-Cats have signed Punter Eric Wilbur to the practice squad.

Palardy has looked shaky in his first month as a professional. He has had three punts blocked in the first five games, and these are mistakes that a team cannot have at this stage of the season.

I still think the St. Mary's product has a productive CFL career ahead of him, but a stint on the practice roster might do him some good. It would allow him to hone his craft without the fear of jeopardizing the team with his current poor play.

He has had some flashes of greatness, most notably his booming 79-yard punt against Calgary. The kid clearly has all the skills necessary to compete at the CFL level, he just needs to work on a few things, which may best be achieved while watching from the sidelines.
